- PRESS RELEASE
In an initiative that promises to become a yearly tradition, the children of all employees at the United Development Company (UDC) welcomed the children of the Qatar Orphan Foundation, Dhreima, at a reception organized by UDC on the occasion of Al-Fitr holiday.
The reception took place on Sunday, on the third day of the Holy Al-Fitr Holiday, in Sharq Village and Spa in Doha. Celebrations included a number of entertaining activities, such as magic shows, face painting, clowns, food and drinks. Further, the organizers distributed gifts to the children, which spread an air of happiness among all those present from UDC and Dhreima alike.
This activity falls within a series of achievements undertaken by UDC since its inception in 1999 affirming the Company's commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility and its support to the important and primordial role of Qatar Orphan Foundation, Dhreima, in caring for the children. Dhreima was established in June 2003 by Her Highness Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser Al Missned, Consort of His Highness the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani. It is a private social organization that aims at caring for orphans and offering services that provide them with a decent life and a home within a family.
On this occasion, Mr. Hussain AlFardan, Chairman of the United Development Company, expressed his joy in having UDC host such an event and said, "we would like to congratulate the members and employees of Dhreima for their continuous and relentless efforts in caring for the children, and in offering this group of the Qatari society all the care, guidance, education and knowledge they need to become active members of the society". Mr. AlFardan further stressed that UDC will deploy all efforts to fulfill its commitments towards the Qatari society in general and the children in particular.
