Gulf Air staff gesture to orphans on the eve of Eid al Fitr
- United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, October 10 - 2007 at 15:31
- PRESS RELEASE
Gulf Air staff members have come together to make this Eid brighter for some orphans in the Kingdom by donating money.
A donation box was kept at the Gulf Air Head quarters and staff members were encouraged to donate by dropping in any amount of money.
In a brief function held today at Gulf Air Head quarters, Acting President and Chief Executive Bjorn Naf donated the contributions to Mr. Khalid Ameen, Executive Director (Human Welfare Committee) of Al-Eslah Society - a well established charity organisation in the Kingdom.
"Ramadan is the holiest time of the Muslim year and is a period when charity to the poor and needy is obligatory before the end of the fasting month," says Mr. Naf.
"I congratulate our young management trainees for coming up with this very good idea and, our staff for their support to this noble cause, in keeping up with the tradition of this faith."
"I am very thankful to Gulf Air staff for this kind gesture," says Mr. Ameen. "Every Dinar from this donation not only goes to make an unfortunate child happy but also fills the donors' heart with contentment during Eid."
The money will be used for purchasing clothes and gifts for the orphan children.
