In the EMEA region, Acer's total PC market growth was 40% as compared to the 15% growth of the market. In the desktop segment Acer achieved growth of 35% as compared to the 2% growth of the market. The market grew by 35% in the notebook segment whereas Acer achieved a growth of 45%, with new form factor, connectivity and design being the key differentiators.
"With revenue growth and economies of scale vital for success, Acer is now in a very commanding position in the EMEA region," said Krishna Murthy, General Manager, Acer Computer, Middle East.
"We have achieved a leading market position in a number of countries as our strategy of focusing on Acer's key areas of mobility, convergence and enterprise has proved very successful for us,"
added Murthy.
In Q2 of 2007 for the EMEA region, Acer became the number one supplier of mobile PCs reporting a market share of 20.3%. It currently holds the second position in the overall PC market with 12.1% market share. It holds the third position in the desktop market with a 5.7% market share. For monitors Acer holds the number four position with a market share of 10.1%, for projectors it holds the sixth position 7.2% market share, and with 1.8% market share it holds the number five position for servers.
Acer has posted impressive figures across the Middle East region for Q2 of 2007. In the regions largest market, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Acer remains the major player leader for notebooks with a market share of 22.8 %. In the UAE Acer's market share for notebooks is 23.5%, where as in Egypt it holds a market share of 17.4%.
For desktops regionally in Q2 of 2007, Acer holds a market share of 18.1% in the UAE and 5.7% in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In Egypt it holds a 2.7% market share for desktops.

Acer Computer (M.E) has been awarded 'Superbrands' status for 2007 by the Superbrands organisation, an independent arbiter on branding.
