The Municipality opted for Trakker's flagship product C-track Solo (developed and manufactured by South Africa's DigiCore-) to meet their goals for Vehicle Tracking Project (SMVTS), utilizing GPS technology and GPRS for data transmission.

The contract was awarded after an extensive evaluation of product features and fleet management tools through international public tender. Sharjah Municipality conducted a thorough study of all offers submitted under the tender over a period of 6 months. Trakker's bid was selected based on its advanced features and ability to deliver on the aim of the project.

"All companies submitted attractive and competitive offers. The competition was very close, but Trakker emerged as the best for the Municipality requirements," the Director General of Sharjah Municipality stated.

"Trakker Middle East will provide us with an efficient, reliable, and useful fleet management system to better meet the increasing demand for quality transport services. We are excited to be rolling out this technology project for the benefit of our management, employees, and citizens," he added.

The contract includes installation and configuration for a fleet of 1,150 vehicles, establishment of a central command unit, departmental-level availability of information through C-track 5 Desktop Application & C-track Connect Web Application, training on operations, and maintenance with deployment completion within 6 months.

"Since the contract signing, tremendous progress has been made in implementing the project, thanks to the concerted efforts and close cooperation of all parties involved," said the Director of the I. T. Department, as well as the Director of the Transport Department at the Sharjah Municipality.

Naim Abdel Hadi, General Manager, Trakker Middle East described his company's cooperation with Sharjah Municipality as "a partnership for the long run, bearing witness to DigiCore's philosophy of 'Customers for Life!' Trakker Middle East is committed to helping the Municipality deploy the solution efficiently and before schedule."

"This is yet another innovative initiative from Sharjah Municipality which will compliment their existing investments to run their operations efficiently and reduce wastage. We look forward to working with Sharjah Municipality on this project. Our system is designed to enhance their operations and ultimately benefit those who rely on this critical service on a daily basis. We intend to showcase the flexibility of the system to meet the needs of organizations and individuals and to take advantage of the sophisticated set of features that Trakker offers," added Abdel Hadi.

"One of the most refreshing things was how well-versed they were with the technology, which they needed to adapt rather than select a standard product offering basic features based on a few factors. By virtue of this contract, Sharjah Municipality can be proud of being included along with these blue chip companies, simply because they recognized what C-track Solo can do for them," he concluded.
