- United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, October 16 - 2007 at 12:17
- PRESS RELEASE
EVS Broadcast Equipment SA, industry leaders in mobile and studio digital video production systems, has established a regional base in Dubai Studio City (DSC), a member of TECOM Investments and the Middle East's first dedicated film production cluster.
Jamal Al Sharif, Director, DSC, said: "We are delighted to have on board a recognized international broadcast equipment company such as EVS. This association represents a significant addition to our bouquet of production entities and demonstrates our commitment to provide outstanding infrastructure and support services to the production and broadcast value-chain.
"The opening of the EVS office in Dubai Studio City underlines EVS' wish to consolidate its ties with the Middle East's broadcast and production market. It also highlights the strategic importance of Dubai for the broadcast industry and the world class infrastructure and support services provided by Dubai Studio City."
EVS supplied its live and near-live production equipment for the Doha Asian Games, which took place earlier this year, in addition to equipping Jordan's ART fleet of HD OB vans with its non-linear editing systems. In Turkey, EVS has supplied sport production solutions for the state broadcaster TRT, NEV TV, and ShowTV.
Bruno Schmetz, Middle East Sales Manager, EVS, said: "The region is experiencing a rapid rise in the number of locally-produced news and TV serials. Our leading sport broadcast products and new studio production solution, the [IP] Director (Suite), perfectly meet broadcaster requirements for integrated production solutions, while offering maximum integration with existing infrastructures.
"Producers and production crews will be able to benefit from our tapeless systems and other top-of-the-range services at our Dubai Studio City facility."
The establishment of the EVS facility indicates the general interest among the European players about Dubai Studio City. The move is also expected to result in increased interest from more global movie production houses and studios in addition to broadcast companies.
