CA creates secutity software bundle to enable companies to comply with new payment card industry regulations
- United Arab Emirates: Thursday, October 18 - 2007 at 10:16
- PRESS RELEASE
CA, Inc. (NYSE: CA) has created a package solution of software and services designed to enable customers to satisfy the requirements of the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard (DSS).
The PCI DSS represents a collaboration between the leading credit card institutions, including, among others, Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. This standard was jointly created in order to ensure consistency of security standards for these card issuers.
It also helps to assure cardholders that their account information is secure, regardless of where the card was used for payment. Merchants who do not comply with these regulations may be subjected to financial penalties or deny the merchant the ability to accept and process credit card transactions.
"PCI is an important industry standard targeted at companies that provide services for credit card holders. CA is helping such organizations in this region by giving them a comprehensive solution that includes the leading products and packaged services they need to achieve PCI compliance. Once compliance is achieved, credit card processing companies eliminate their exposure to penalties and end users have peace of mind that their transactions are secure," said Maria Medvedeva, Director of Technical Sales for CA, Inc.
CA's solution is designed to secure access to PCI servers to satisfy certain requirements of the regulations. The requirements include controlling access to systems that host credit card data or transactions, and ensuring that critical servers require protection from unauthorized, anonymous or over-privileged access. Also, access must trace back to definitive users to meet PCI audit requirements.
