The Department of Economic Development contributes to 'Dubai Cares'

The Department of Economic Development (DED) organized a donation campaign to support the Dubai Cares initiative unveiled by UAE Vice President & Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The campaign, led by Ali Ibrahim, Deputy Director General for Executive Affairs, gained overwhelming response from all employees. Dubai Cares is a key initaitive by Dubai to support the primary educaiton of 1 million children from the developing world.

"DED is committed to support such humanitarian activities that aim to create social balance, across the world. We invited all our employees to contribute to the campaign apart from encouraging our visitors to contribute to the cause," said Ali Ibrahim.

He stressed that the Dubai cares campaign is a humanitarian initiative that aims to spread learning and knowledge all over the world, and emphasized on the need to empower needy children by providing them growth opportunities through education.

About Department of Economic Development (DED):

The Department of Economic Development (DED) was established in March 1992, with the objective to organise, regulate and boost trade and industry within the Emirate of Dubai. The DED has moulded its mission of building a futuristic establishment, in accordance with the vision of the Government of Dubai and in the light of globalisation and the requirements of a digital economy. One of its key functions is to encourage local and foreign investments in commercial and industrial projects, and create the appropriate environment for investors.
