Hand in hand for Dubai Cares
- United Arab Emirates: Thursday, October 18 - 2007 at 16:20
- PRESS RELEASE
HH Sheikh Mayed Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum today joined hands with thousands of students at the Al Mawakeb School in Barsha as they formed the largest human chain in support of the Dubai Cares campaign.
Once on stage, HH Sheikh Mayed joined hands with the children to be part of the chain and officially launching 'Hands Together' - a fund raising event organized by Al Mawakeb School in aid of the Dubai Cares campaign.
Speaking on the occasion Dr Abdulla Al Karam, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director General of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority of Dubai (KHDA) said, "Many efforts have been made by the children in Dubai's schools, but this event is unique. By holding hands together, the children have chosen a very creative way to symbolize their commitment to Dubai Cares and the less fortunate students around the world. We are proud of the school's efforts and look forward to other schools also participating similarly in creative ways."
Adonis Nasr, CEO of the AMSI group said, "What His Highness has taught our students through this initiative, and what we hope they will learn, is something they could not get from books, and we are just proud to be part of it all, for an education at its best, at its greatest value, is a lesson learned in life. With Dubai Cares, His Highness has helped us deliver a message to all children at every schooling age that they too have a role and that they too can make a difference."
Later HH Sheikh Mayed signed the guest book at the school.
