"By developing DLC within Dubai World Central (DWC) - the world's first truly integrated multi-modal platform with all transportation modes in a single customs-bonded free zone environment - Dubai has once again showed that it can play the main role in the Middle East's integrated supply chain management growth,"
said Abdulla Al Falasi, DWC's Director for Marketing and Corporate Communications.
"Dubai Logistics City is becoming a reality with the cargo terminals scheduled for completion by end-2008 along with all related infrastructure. FIATA delegates have been hearing about this project for the last three years but today they could see for themselves that Dubai means business.
"The airport and DLC will begin operations in early 2009 when most companies are expected to commence their respective businesses and the airport will be fully operational in 2015 in line with the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai."
DLC are the platinum sponsors of the Congress and the last day's gala dinner being held at Bab Al Shams Desert Resort on 22 October, where delegates will get a glimpse of Dubai's heritage.
