Dubai Property Group joins 'Dubai Cares' campaign
- United Arab Emirates: Saturday, October 20 - 2007 at 09:52
- PRESS RELEASE
In a move that highlights its commitment to community initiatives, Dubai Property Group (DPG), Dubai's only real estate professional association, today announced that it will organize a gala dinner for its members in November 2007 in Dubai to raise funds for the 'Dubai Cares' campaign.
The 'Dubai Cares' campaign, which was launched on September 19th by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, is a multi-million dirham initiative that aims to educate more than a million children in developing countries worldwide.
"Dubai Cares is another example of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid's commitment to noble causes worldwide. We are grateful to him for launching such a progressive initiative aimed at raising awareness about the vital importance of education in battling poverty," said Ahmad Al Matrooshi, Chairman of DPG. "The gala dinner reflects our commitment and support of causes directly pertaining to humanitarian issues. We plan to raise significant amounts of money through our members who have always shown their dedication to community initiatives."
According to recent statistics, more than 103 million children of primary school age in the world do not attend school, and the majority of them are girls. Nearly three-quarters of those un-enrolled children in the world live in Sub-Saharan Africa and South and West Asia.
"We are proud to participate in this campaign and we are delighted to see the huge positive response from the business community," said Adel Lootah, Executive Director of Dubai Property Group. "To be able to contribute to help put a smile back on the faces of many children is our only aim. We believe that education is the key to drive economic development and prosperity and with the 'Dubai Cares' campaign we are keen to contribute to making a difference in the world."
DPG represents the combined interests of Dubai's real estate community. It aims to establish standards of best safe industry practices and create a framework of debate and decision-making on related real estate issues, which determine the future of the real estate sector.
Recently DPG merged with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry's (DCCI) 'Real Estate & Property Business Group' in a joint effort to further promote Dubai's booming real estate sector. The combined group operates under the DPG name and works together to represent protect and promote the interests of Dubai's real estate community.
