Arab Telsat 2007 gets wide industry support

"Arab Telsat 2007 will highlight all the latest developments in the telecommunications and ICT industry, and we are highly encouraged by the backing we have received from companies and organisations that play a leading role in the industry," said Melwin D'Cunha, project manager of the event, which is jointly organised by Omanexpo LLC and Trifoil Expo LLC.

Arab Telsat 2007 is mainly supported by Omantel and Oman Mobile as diamond sponsors and by Nawras and Huawei Technologies as gold sponsors. It is also officially supported by the Geneva-based International Telecommunications Union (ITU), the Information Technology Authority (ITA), the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), and Knowledge Oasis Muscat (KOM).

The event has likewise received the backing of the SAMENA Telecommunications Council, UK Trade and Investment, the Singapore Industrial Automation Association, Global VSAT Forum, and Wireless World Forum.

"This is a clear indication of their interest in the vibrant telecom and ICT industry here in the sultanate."

D'Cunha added that Arab Telsat 2007 has also garnered the support of many media organisations whose operations are directly focused on the developments in the industry. In addition to the exhibition, Arab Telsat 2007 will also feature an international conference that has attracted the participation of delegates from all over the region. The conference will be spearheaded by the ITU and will mainly discuss three major topics: Evolution to 4G Networks, Triple/Quad/Play (Convergence), and Wireless Security.
