Held under the patronage of HE Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President, Department of Civil Aviation Government of Dubai, and Chairman of the Emirates Group, the Dubai Oil Barons Ball 2007 is set for unprecedented success with only limited tables for the maximum capacity 2500 event still available.

"The Oil Barons Ball is seen as an incomparable networking opportunity by the global oil and gas industry,"

said event organiser Eileen Michael of Reflex Publishing Middle East - Pipeline magazine.

"The event attracts the crème de la crème of the Middle East's energy sector and we've received overwhelming industry demand for this high-calibre networking event to be replicated across the globe. The first international Oil Barons Ball was held in Aberdeen in August this year, and we have plans to stage similar events in Calgary, Houston and Perth in the near future."

The fifth edition of the Dubai Oil Barons Ball will witness the crowning of the Middle East Oil Baron 2007, an individual judged by industry peers to have made the most outstanding contribution to the Middle East's energy sector in the last 12 months.

Last year's winner, Nabil Alalawi, Managing Director of Al Mansoori Specialised Engineering, was the first Arab Middle East Oil Baron and will be present at this year's event to hand over his crown.

"It was a great honour to be recognised by my peers and colleagues as the 2006 Oil Baron," said Alalawi. "I've been involved in the UAE's oil sector for nearly four decades and winning the title was all the better coming from my industry counterparts - I wish this year's winner every success."

A 23-piece musical extravaganza "Viva las Vegas!" is being flown in from the USA especially for the event to provide attendees with a stunning array of unparalleled entertainment for the evening, cementing the Oil Barons Ball reputation as Dubai's premier social event for the year.

Adding to the glitz and glamour of the event, Aftershock will be announcing a Best Dressed Woman award - the winner and runner-up will receive Aftershock gift vouchers to ensure they continue to remain the best dressed ladies in Dubai throughout the year.

Well-respected Dubai society photographer, Stu Williamson, will be the official photographer for the Aftershock Photo Booth. Ball-goers will be able to line-up from 7:30pm to 9:00pm to parade their finest gear and receive a momento of the glittering occasion. Throughout the course of the evening a silent auction will also be held to raise funds for the balls' official charity, the Make A Wish Foundation.

The Oil Barons Ball 2007 is on Friday 9th November and commences with a cocktail reception at 7:30pm. Dress code is Black Tie or National Dress.
