International Conferences and Exhibitions (IC&E), the organisers of the Arab Oil and Gas Show (OGS), have predicted a record turnout at the 14th edition of the premier exhibition for the onshore and offshore oil, gas, and petrochemical industries, when it takes place from December 04 - 06, 2007, at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre.

Supported by the UAE Ministry of Energy, the OGS is the Middle East's leading event for petroleum industry professionals and represents an effective forum for discussing issues pertinent to the energy sector in a region that accounts for nearly 60 percent of the world's proven oil reserves.

An expanded array of international exhibitors have already confirmed their participation at this year's event, based on growing investments in the oil and gas sector that are estimated to tally around USD 120 billion between 2006 and 2010 in the Gulf countries alone. More than 500 exhibitors from 30 countries will showcase innovative technologies and products from the five key energy sectors of oil, gas, pipelines, hydrocarbon technology, and petrochemicals.

"This will be one of our largest and most exciting exhibitions yet, as it represents an opportunity to predict the future direction of the energy industry and evaluate the new technology and innovation likely to characterise this market. Since the Show started in 1984, the OGS has developed into the Middle East's leading platform for showcasing the building blocks of the energy industry and we are very excited about the potential that will be on display this year,"

said Anselm Godinho, Managing Director of IC&E.

"Furthermore, many of the world's most distinguished companies will showcase technological advances, fresh energy approaches, non-conventional resources and cutting-edge solutions related to the international energy sector," Godinho added.

Exhibiting at OGS 2007 will be international manufacturers, distributors, and suppliers of energy-related products and technology, in an event designed to facilitate networking and dialogue among industry professionals related to the topics of exploration, extraction, processing, storage, transportation and security. During the exhibition, seminars and technical workshops will also be organised to educate buyers of new technological trends, and to highlight innovative products in various exhibitors' portfolios.

Running alongside OGS 2007 will be the 3rd Arab Instrumentation and Automation exhibition, (AIA), which will target instrumentation, control, automation and laboratory professionals. The event will highlight standards of excellence in instrumentation, control and automation technologies related to the energy, engineering, construction, manufacturing and communications for industry buyers from the Middle East, Iran, the Mediterranean and the Indian subcontinent.

"Each year this Show becomes more integral to the annual buying cycle of the energy industry, and this year we are expecting considerably more visitors than the 5,800 guests that attended last year. The oil and gas sector forms the backbone of the region's economic clout, so OGS 2007 will prove highly beneficial in promoting the development of the industry to create new opportunities for growth," Godinho concluded.
