- PRESS RELEASE
The new UAE Off-Road Explorer guide that hit the shelves this month is the most comprehensive guide yet to off-roading in the Emirates.
The routes are easy to follow thanks to the inclusion of satellite maps to 1:50,000 scale that include grid co-ordinates in both Universal Transverse Mercator and latitudes and longitudes to make them the most accurate in any UAE guide book.
The maps show distances, times, area highlights, such as campsites, oasis and viewpoints, and position within the UAE.
"The route information comes in three different formats," said MacKenzie. "Novice off-roaders can use the accurate written directions. The more experienced can read the comprehensive maps and we also have GPS way points for sophisticated off-roaders."
Illustrated with fantastic full-colour photographs from the region's most experience photographers, the guide also includes information from experts in their field such as Dr. Maryke Jongbloed, renowned local ornothologist Colin Richardson, and one of the region's best known climbers John Gregory.
The Jeep UAE Off-Road Explorer is divided into nine tabbed sections that include information on off-road driving, first aid and the natural world.
"This book is the 'gold standard' in state-of-the-art guides just as Jeep is state-of-the-art in off roading," said David Glorius, Vice President and Sales and Marketing Director for Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge, Middle East. "Off roaders like to explore but they also know that they must be responsible citizens. This book will help them 'Tread Lightly' to protect the UAE's natural habitat."
The Jeep UAE Off-Road Explorer is available at good book stores and other outlets throughout the UAE.
