Asian-Counsel Firms of the Year are selected annually on the basis of votes and testimonials of senior in-house counsel across Asia and the UAE. Participants are asked which law firms are their preferred external partners.
Clyde & Co's regional real estate practice includes experts in the fields of development work, real estate projects, property finance, hotel/hospitality and construction, operating across the firm's Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Doha offices. The firm's expertise across this sector was further recognised earlier this year when it was named as one of only two 'leading' firms in the area of property & construction in the UAE by the highly regarded Legal 500 legal directory.
Alexis Waller of Clyde & Co's Real Estate team commented,
"This is great recognition for the hard work put in by every member of our construction and real estate teams. The market here is just starting to move to the next level of sophistication which, along with the ongoing implementation of new legislation, makes it an exciting time to be involved in so many projects."
Clyde & Co also has the largest dedicated dispute resolution team of any international law firm in the GCC. The firm is known internationally as one of the world's leading dispute resolution firms and as a leading player for complex, international disputes. Much of the work the dispute resolution group undertakes is confidential, but recent matters in the Middle East have included a multi-billion dollar oil arbitration on behalf of the Ministry of Oil and Minerals in Yemen (for the Yemeni Government), and advising in relation to a $1bn DIAC arbitration arising from the failure of a large property development in the UAE.
