DIFC's Governor visits Dubai Autism Center

Dubai Autism Center (DAC), a non-profit organization that provides educational and therapeutic support to children suffering from autism, welcomed His Excellency Dr. Omar Bin Sulaiman, Governor of the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) and Vice Chairman of Dubai Autism Center, along with a delegation of the center's board members.

His Excellency Dr. Omar Bin Sulaiman said: 'We are particularly grateful for the support by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the Executive Council of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Autism Center. We, as a Business Community, are embracing our responsibility to play a role in developing our society. It is important for both business and individuals to have a duty towards being socially responsible. We look forward to developing our role with the Dubai Austism Center.

Mr. Mohammad Al Emadi, Director General of the DAC briefed the senior delegation on the recent developments that took place at the center, as well as the new organizational structure, which contributed to achieving the center's goals and objectives. He also highlighted some of the projects and activities that the center plans to carry out in the next few months to improve the level of the services it provides to people with Autism in addition to supporting those who care for them.

'The new organizational structure complements the successful journey that DAC undertook since its launch in 2001. The continuous support of the Dubai International Financial Centre has been the main driving force behind our achievements,' said Mr. Mohammad Al Emadi, Director General of the DAC.

Al Emadi emphasized the importance of such a visit, as it highlights the contribution made by the members to improve the services offered by the center. He added: 'The support of both the vice chairman and the board of directors has a great impact on the administration and operation teams. Their dedication in supporting the center's operations and to improving the quality of its services, is also in line with Dubai's Strategic Plan.'

At the end of the visit, His Excellency and the members of the board met with the center's staff and commended their effort and contribution to the success of the center since its launch.

The Dubai Autism Center was launched in November 2001 on the issuance of a decree by His Highness Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. It is a non-profit organization relying on fund raising and donations. It started as a resource center for parents and professionals, providing essential resources like information, books & videos on autism. It is now a fully fledged center catering to the needs of children with autism thus turning a dream into reality.
