UAE affiliate of International Association for Energy Economics to hold inaugural gathering

The Emirates Association for Energy Economics (EAEE), the UAE affiliate of the International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE), announced that it will present the 'International Energy Outlook to 2030: Implications for the Gulf Region' in its inaugural gathering to be held on November 1, 2007 at Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai.

Energy economist, Mr. Guy Caruso, Administrator of the Energy Information Administration (EIA), US Department of Energy, will be the key speaker for the day. Ali Obaid Al Yabhouni, EAEE President and UAE Governor and National Representative for OPEC, Dr. Tilak Doshi, Executive Director of Energy, DMCC, and Secretary, EAEE will also attend the conference along with other leading energy economists.

Caruso will present major findings from the EIA's latest long-term projections for global energy markets through 2030. The talk will highlight the expected growth in petroleum and other liquids supply and demand in the Gulf region. He will also discuss the region's oil and natural gas resources, as well as the potential for unconventional liquids and conventional resources outside the region.

Established in 1977, the IAEE is an international non-profit professional organisation whose members include business, government, academic and other professionals concerned with energy and related issues. It was set up with a mission to advance the understanding and application of economics across all aspects of energy, and promote communication among professionals in the energy sector.

EAEE, the UAE affiliate of IAEE, was set up in June 2007 to harness the local knowledge base by establishing a solid group of energy professionals from government, corporate and academic circles for networking, discussion, education and exchange of ideas on energy issues in the UAE and the wider region.
