Abdul Salam Rafi donates Dhs2m to Dubai Cares

H.H. Sheikh Rashid Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum received an Dhs2m donation to 'Dubai Cares' from UAE businessman Abdul Salam Rafi, who described the campaign as a 'testament to the solidarity of Dubai society'.

"The overwhelming response from both local and expatriate communities underscores the strength of our society and the success in Dubai's multicultural model," said Rafi.

He added, "It is an honour to be able to count myself among the many that were quick in their response to the call of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum to support 'Dubai Cares'."

'Dubai Cares' was launched by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum on 19 September. The campaign aims to raise funds to provide primary education to a million needy children in a number of the world's poorest countries. Funds raised by the campaign will be utilized to build schools and offer health care and food for students.
