The foremost objective of the seminar will be to raise technology awareness in the region with respect to the latest developments in internet architecture technologies such as flow routing, and to showcase the evolution of the internet from its early days as a United States Department of Defence ARPA (Advanced Research Project Agency) project in the late 60s, to what it has become today.
Highlighting the importance of the seminar, Dr. Eesa Mohammad Al Bastaki, Director of Education and Technology at DSOA and Chairman of the IEEE UAE Section, said:
'Dubai Silicon Oasis continuously focuses on enhancing Knowledge and Education levels in line with the market needs as technology industry evolves and faces newer challenges. Hosting the 'Past, Present and Future of Internet' seminar is in line with our primary objective to promote the technology industry in the region and the UAE.'
He further added, 'This seminar presents the perfect opportunity to share research results, discuss newer technologies, and assess academic curriculum and it will definitely assist regional organisations in sharing international knowledge about the latest developments in the internetworking industry.'
DSOA aims to become the number one high-tech hub in the Middle East, providing single window service and free zone incentives. It operates as a technology park for semiconductors, microelectronics and other electronic-based companies looking to set up their regional headquarters and R&D divisions.
