The agreement was signed between Umniah's CEO Joseph Hanania and Mayor of Amman Omar Maani.
The agreement will complement the Greater Amman Municipality's plan to introduce pedestrianized streets in Amman while accentuating the experience of pedestrians who either need to work on the go or enjoy using the internet in a socially-augmented atmosphere.
Mr. Hanania emphasized Umniah's commitments towards the local community and its ongoing quest towards participating in national efforts that aim at achieving sustainable development through ongoing partnerships with concerned parties.
'We are supporting the Greater Amman Municipality's efforts to make Amman a pedestrian-friendly city. The public services sector receives Umniah's full attention and dedication especially that this falls in line with Umniah's vision to play a major role in bettering the lives of all Jordanians,' Mr. Hanania said.
H.E Omar Maani valued Umniah's initiative saying: 'The Greater Amman Municipality encourages the public-private Partnership towards the development of the local community. This initiative is a clear evidence of the private sector's corporate social responsibility.'
Umniah since the start of its operation has exhibited a firm belief in the importance of private sector's role in developing society and its activities, and the importance of contributing to the effective growth of Jordan. Umniah has diligently carried out several corporate social responsibility initiatives by partnering with reliable society institutions such as Save the Children's 'NAJAH' program, which will bring immediate recognition and improved community connections to hundreds of youth and families throughout Jordan.
