Duncan Macaulay Joins Credit Suisse as Head of Real Estate in the Middle East

Credit Suisse is pleased to announce that Duncan Macaulay is joining Credit Suisse as a Managing Director and Head of Real Estate in the Middle East, based in Dubai.

He will report to Rob Brennan, Head of Global Real Estate Finance and Securitization and Bassam Yammine, Co-CEO and Head of Investment Banking in the Middle East. Mr Macaulay assumed his position on September 4.

Mr. Macaulay will be responsible for the origination and execution of the full spectrum of real estate products for our clients in the Middle East.

Rob Brennan, Head of Real Estate Finance and Securitization, said, "Duncan is an exceptionally talented and experienced banker with over twenty-five years experience in the global real estate sector. We look forward to welcoming him to Credit Suisse."

Bassam Yammine, Co-CEO and Head of Investment Banking in the Middle East, added: "Duncan brings to the Bank strong relationships and will be an excellent addition to the team as we look to develop a leading real estate platform in the Middle East and deliver the full capabilities of the Bank to our clients in this key growth market."

Mr. Macaulay joins Credit Suisse from Dubai Investment Group, where he was CEO of their Real Estate and Hospitality group for three years. In this role, during which time he established and led a 35-person team, he was responsible for sourcing and executing Real Estate and Hospitality investments globally. Prior to this, Mr. Macaulay spent seven years with advisory group, Highland Capital in New York and London where he was a founding partner, focusing on private equity funds and real estate developers. Previously, Mr. Macaulay was a developer and established Heller Macaulay Equities in New York and, prior to this, was an Investment Principal with Investcorp International and Abu Dhabi Investment Authority. Mr. Macaulay is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and holds a B. Sc. in Land Economics from Paisley College, Glasgow.
