DAE University will occupy several locations at the show: A prominent position at DAE's main Exhibition Hall location, a high-visibility terrace location featuring DAE University and the DAE Flight Academy, and a static display area near the DAE chalet spotlighting the DAE Flight Academy Cirrus training aircraft. The air show will also help DAE University establish its position as a major emerging resource for research, training and education, and technology for the regional aviation and aerospace industries.
Dr. George H. Ebbs, President and CEO of DAE University, said:
"Our contribution will include an educated locally available human resource pool for Dubai as a growing hub of aviation and aerospace industry and activity. While we are focused on the region - which includes the GCC, MENA, India and Asia - our reach will be global, including Europe and the Americas."
DAE University's presence at the air show will cap a year of rapid and confident achievement: the inaugural class has enrolled and instruction is already under way at a facility located in Academic City; the license to operate as a university has been received from the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MHESR) through the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA). Moreover, the Commission has granted programme accreditation to DAE University's first two degree programs - the Bachelor in Flight and Aviation Management and Bachelor in Business Administration-Aviation Business.
During the Dubai Air Show, DAE University will reveal far-reaching new partnerships: research and collaborations with leading universities, knowledge transfer opportunities with a leading multinational technology provider and the partnering of government agencies on knowledge building activities like seminars on current industry 'hot topics' such as the impact of aviation on the environment.
These will be supported by the knowledge, process and physical infrastructure that DAE University is fast completing. John R. Metzner, SVP External Relations said, "We are very excited about being the first in the region to offer students the opportunity and facilities to have exciting careers in the aviation sector. This industry is growing at a rapid pace and is recognised by the GCC governments as a key economic tool and driver of growth, further highlighting a critical need for an educational institution of this standing. Our courses have been specifically designed to provide our graduates with the right skills and capabilities to be an integral part of this key sector."
The DAE University ecosystem will consist of the undergraduate and graduate degree granting institution, DAE Flight Academy, DAE College (for the licensed, technical programmes), DAE Centre for Management Education and the DAE Centre for Research and Innovation. This will be the stimulating environment in which up to eight thousand students will enrol in as many as 30 undergraduate and graduate programmes that set the world standard in aviation training.
