EMC Art for Charity raises more than Dhs1.2m for the Abu Dhabi Special Care Centre

Alfahim Group, organized the second annual fund-raising art auction, EMC Art for Charity, at the Emirates Palace and successfully raised more than Dhs1.2m for the Abu Dhabi Special Care Centre (SCC), a school for children with special needs.

Under the presence and patronage of HE Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Education and Scientific Research, Emirates Motor Company (EMC), general distributors of Mercedes-Benz in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain and the flagship company of Alfahim Group.

"We are exceptionally pleased by the success of this year's art auction event for SCC," commented Mr. Monzer Al Rifai, General Manager of EMC.

"As part of the EMC Corporate Responsibility Program and our inherent value of Humanity, the monies raised this evening will endorse SCC with a portion of the funds they require to build their new facility to accommodate their growing number of children.

"Additionally, our motive is to represent and support our gifted artists, and contribute to the initiative of developing and enhancing the artistic culture of UAE. I am looking forward to another exciting event next year," continued Mr. Al Rifai.

"On behalf of the Special Care Centre, we are grateful for your generous donations tonight," thanked Ms. Isabelle Le Bon, Board Member of SCC and Head of the Good Heart Foundation. "I sincerely express my gratitude to the individuals that supported these efforts to raise funds for the centre; you have made a major difference in the development and progress of our facilities and, consequently, to the lives of the children."

The art auction featured pieces by fifteen artists: Mr. Andrew Field, Ms. Azzah Al Qubaisi, Ms. Camelia Mohebi, Ms. Donna Webber, Mr. Haider Al Qassam, Mr. Jalal Luqman, Ms. Jennifer Simon, Mr. Khaled Al Haddadi, Mr. Khaled Al Khaddour, Mr. Mohamed Kanoo, Ms. Nawal Al Azizi, Ms. Olesya Sydorenko, Ms. Reema AL Abbas, Mr. Saleh AL Nuaimi and Ms. Salwa Al Wahshi. While the event was organized by EMC, it was supported by Safar Travel & Tourism, Ghaf Art Gallery, Emirates Palace, Sorouh, HSBC Private Banking, Style Gallery, EMKE Group, Noozz.com, Swisslinx, Time Machine Group, Mobil and Mepa Group.
