Tameer Holding subcontracts the Arabian Foundations Engineering LLC for its project in Abu Dhabi

The highly reputable construction firm, a subsidiary of the Al Ghurair group, won the competitive bid due to its abundant resources and ability to produce immensely complex quality works coupled with commitment to timely delivery, a reflecting of Tameer's highest commitment to quality and delivery of its projects on time.

Under the contract, Arabian Foundations will carry out the enabling package of the project which includes mobilization, shoring, earthwork, dewatering, and piling work. The construction of the project is due to the intense effort to complete the design performed by London-based Gensler, one of the world's largest and most renowned architectural firm. US-based Thornton Tomasetti, the engineer of skyscrapers Taipei 101 and the Petronas Towers is performing the structural design of the project along with world-class London-based firm Hilson Moran in charge of the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering, both working under the umbrella of Gensler.

Dr. Abdallah Shaaban, Managing Director of Tameer Abu Dhabi, said that the award of the enabling works to the highly qualified contractor, illustrates Tameer's commitment to the adherence of the highest international standards in construction which will in turn deliver the most desirable results.

The Arabian Foundations contract includes the construction of a 1500 linear meter diaphragm wall with a depth of 20 meters yielding a colossal volume of more than 900,000 m³ excavated for the four-level Tameer Towers basement.

In addition, more than 1000 piles are needed for the foundation of the landmark mega project, which consists of a 300 meter international A grade standard commercial tower, four state-of-the-art residential towers, innovative stepped townhouses and villas, a scenic canal promenade in Central Park leading into the project's very own VIP marina.

Arabian Foundations will complete the enabling works for the mammoth development in a span of only 53 weeks with the main contractor expected to start mobilization in February 2008. The project is scheduled for completion in June 2011.
