Presented at Dubai's Mina A' Salam Hotel, the awards were based on hundreds of online nominations from readers and online respondents. Gerald Lawless, Jumeirah Group Chairman, was presented with the prestigious lifetime achievement award.
'The CEO Middle East Awards have become an important forum to recognise the achievements, personalities and remarkable talents of the region's strong and fast-growing commercial community,' said Walid Akawi, CEO of ITP. 'Each of tonight's winners has made a special contribution to the success of the region's leading companies.'
The CEO Middle East Awards hosted Her Highness Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi as Guest of Honour. In her address to the gathering of over 200 Middle East business leaders, Sheikha Lubna outlined the fast growth in the region, the consequent challenges and opportunities facing regional businesses and went on to congratulate the night's winners and acknowledge their role in building the region's economic opportunities.
Sponsored by Damac and the Tanmiyat Group, the awards were selected by an online voting process in which readers of CEO Middle East Magazine cast their votes for their peers. These nominations were then whittled down by a judging panel of regional business leaders and analysts to the final nominations.
