The event will highlight the strategic partnership between the two companies and will educate the channel partners on AMD based HP solutions, designed to increase productivity, efficient power consumption and lower cooling costs.

Globally, for more than ten years, HP and AMD have collaborated to deliver innovative technology ranging from desktops to datacenters. Today, HP delivers an ever-broadening portfolio of proven systems based on the entire family of AMD processors, including thin clients, desktops, notebooks, workstations, servers and blades.

In addition to Athlon X2, and Turion X2 processors, the event will showcase the recently launched Quad-Core AMD Opteron processor, which is the world's only true quad core, and the most advanced x86 processor ever designed to deliver an unparallel performance-per-watt-per-dollar proposition.

Senior HP and AMD executive will train the channel partners on identifying and understanding their customers' specific needs, the ways to go about selecting the right processor for the right application and workload and how to make the most of the local AMD and HP sales team to better serve their customers.

"Our main objective of organizing this event is to help our regional channel and resellers get a better understanding of the available HP solutions to help them with the changing IT infrastructure and meet the escalating customer demands,"

said Khaled Hejazi, KSA Country Manager, Personal Systems Group, HP Middle East

"Reduced total cost of ownership (TCO) and platform stability are some of the key challenges that organizations face on a constant level. The energy-efficient dual and quad core processors from AMD successfully combines reduction of energy costs and protects investment in infrastructure, a critical survival factor for businesses of all size" added Hejazi

On this occasion, AMD will also unveil its official Channel Partner portal www.amdmea.com, designed specifically for AMD's partners and distributors in the Middle East, Africa and Pakistan.

"Saudi Arabia is a key market for AMD worldwide and we are committed to helping our partners deliver industry leading platform solutions. With their support we are optimistic about extending our presence and achieving greater growth results in Saudi. The joint event with HP, our strategic partner, is one such initiative to raise the profile of AMD's award-winning portfolio of products," said Dr. Gaith Kadir, Regional Director for AMD, Middle East, Africa and Pakistan.

The two day event is scheduled to take place at Hotel Sheraton in Riyadh on October 29th and Hotel Westin in Jeddah on October 31st.
