Traditional events to mark customary spirit of giving

Dr. Abdulla Al Karam, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director General of KHDA and Fatma Al Marri, CEO of the Dubai School Agency, visited the Nad Al Sheeba Ladies Centre where he was presented with a cheque for Dhs1m as the centre's contribution towards Dubai Cares.

Abdulsalam AlMarri, the executive director of the Rashid and Latifa schools also attended the event.

The event took place at the center and was marked by traditional events that took place in a typical Arabic tent put up on the premises. The students from the center cooked traditional food at the event after which there was a presentation ceremony in the auditorium.

Dr. Abdulla Al Karam, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director General of KHDA, the organization behind the Dubai Cares for Schools campaign said, "Helping people who are less fortunate is customary in Islam and the Arabic culture. Marking the celebration with traditional events enhances this time-honored practice."

At the ceremony, one of the students recited a poem she wrote. A short performance was followed by the cheque presentation from Amena Mohammed, the manager of the centre.
