This partnership of equals - Frank Gehry's vision matched with Tiffany's unparalleled reputation for quality and craftsmanship has created a dynamic and original style in jewellery.

The Gehry Collection is based on Gehry's life-long obsession with art. Just as he has built profoundly brilliant works of architecture set in myriad landscapes, so now does he turn to the most intimate of all the arts, jewellery design, creating provocative new forms scaled perfectly to the body.

Speaking on the launch of The Gehry Collection at the swanky Raffles Dubai, Tamjid Abdullah, Deputy Managing Director of Damas, the exclusive partner of Tiffany & Co. in the UAE, explained, 'Over the last two centuries of its existence, Tiffany has collaborated with the most creative minds in design. Its recent partnership with world renowned architect Frank Gehry has resulted in extraordinary creations that carry the trademark of a true genius.'

'Mr. Gehry is at the top tier of the design world and his trailblazing works have been regarded as benchmarks of contemporary design. Tiffany has translated Mr. Gehry's innovative concepts into jewellery pieces that celebrate the natural beauty of metal, wood and stone - the materials of choice for the collection. Tiffany's loyal following in the country will definitely find these wearable art pieces a true source of joy and inspiration.'

Frank Gehry utilises an unusual array of materials such as black gold, pernambuco wood and cocholong stone in his collection. Along with sterling silver, diamonds and gemstones, these materials define six intriguing motifs inspired by structural elements, childhood memories, renaissance masters and contemporary painters.

The architect's familiar linear curved planes take on a new twist in 'Torque', unleashing energy in sweeping turns, clean lines and crisp edges.

'Fish' passionately expresses life with a powerful beauty and magnetism. Always in motion, these forms nestle gracefully with one another and the body.

The purely feminine shape of 'Orchid' seduces as it unfurls, reaching up to embrace the light and arresting the eye with its undulating, sensual surfaces.

Inspired by the majesty of a horse's head 'Equus' captures an untamed vitality, sinuous and absolutely exhilarating.

'Fold' creates remarkable harmony with divergent lines and folds that exude uniquely sophisticated and enchanting elegance.

A rectilinear structure of two interlocking elements is the basis for 'Axis' - jewellery pieces of sleek versatility.

According to Frank Gehry, architecture and design are about process. Sketching and shaping three-dimensional models and conceptualising different possibilities are the essence of creating, whether in architecture, jewellery, or any other art form. The impulse is always the same - to discover new forms that have a natural flow and a relevance to contemporary life. With Tiffany's expertise in jewellery making and superb selection of materials, the design master has definitely accomplished that.

The Gehry™ Collection is exclusively available at Tiffany & Co. boutiques in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
