Pecha Kucha is a forum dedicated to creating a unique space for creative and experimental ideas. It offers young designers, students, artists, musicians, fashionistas, architects and cultural critics the chance to present their work, design or concept to the rest of the world.
Pecha Kucha follows a 20x20 format which allows each of 10-12 presenters to exhibit 20 images, each shown for 20 seconds, giving the presenter 6 minutes 40 seconds of fame before switching to the next participant. This keeps the talk concise, interesting and gives more people the chance to be involved. The presentation may include any kind of idea, from a new building, furniture, book, artwork, ad campaign, gadget or any other design. This event, which will take place in Dubai every three months, provides the opportunity for people to network and cross-pollinate concepts in an informal and open minded space.
Originating in Japan, Pecha Kucha (pronounced peh-chak-cha) is Japanese for 'chatter'. It is an international network of events spread over 80 cities across the world, from Amsterdam to Atlanta and San Francisco to Shanghai. This event has tapped into a demand for a forum in which creative work can be easily and informally presented. This will be the first Pecha Kucha event in the Middle East.
Pecha Kucha Dubai is organised by the Architectural Association of the UAE (aaUAE), S*uce, Traffic, 9714 and The Third Line.
Pecha Kucha Dubai will be held at The Third Line. Entrance is free and open to the public. Admission will be first come, first served. Doors will close when the house is full.
