Nawras signs innovative e-recharge agreement with Cellucom

Nawras, the Sultanate's customer-friendly communications provider, has signed a new agreement with Cellucom to offer Nawras e-recharge through the Standard Dealer's network of more than 600 dealers, in an exciting move that means all Nawras Mousbak prepaid customers can now enjoy even greater options for recharging than before.

As terminals are placed in locations, this new convenient way of obtaining Nawras credit will become available at every Cellucom outlet being operated across the country. This latest development signals the future of recharge in Oman and is expected to mark the welcome decline in the use of plastic cards for this purpose.

The deal was formalised during a signing ceremony held at Nawras main office in Al Athaiba attended by Nawras Chief Executive Officer Ross Cormack, Chief Operating Officer Khalid Al Mahmoud, Chief Commercial Officer Henrik Norgaard, Marketing Director Tore Solberg, Sales Director Khalil Abbas and Indirect Sales Manager, Mohamed Abdullatif. Senior management from Cellucom were present including Ajay Nagar, Executive Director, who was joined by Ganesh Iyer, Chief Marketing Officer and Sajith Pillai, Country Manager.

"Our partnership with Cellucom is now entering its third year," said Ross Cormack, "and we are delighted that it continues to go from strength to strength."

He went on to explain just what this means for Nawras: "Throughout the Sultanate, our mutual customers will now benefit from even greater choice in terms of how they choose to recharge, this in line with the Nawras experience of receiving pleasingly different service with customer-friendly options."

Cellucom's Executive Director, Ajay Nagar, responded by saying, "Nawras has been in the forefront of bringing consumer-friendly technologies and solutions to Oman. We are pleased to be partnering with Nawras in bringing International Telecom solutions to the consumers of Oman."

Nawras has enjoyed a successful association with Cellucom for the last two years and the latter's innumerable dealers all over Oman have been an invaluable part of the wide distribution network set up by Nawras providing convenient locations for customers to purchase Nawras Ajel (postpaid), Nawras Mousbak (prepaid) and Nawras Recharge cards.

Now, with this new system, where customers can pay by credit card if they prefer, opting for a small printed paper recharge slip receipt, electronic recharge can be selected rather than using the now-familiar plastic Nawras Recharge card.

Not only will this be quicker and more convenient for members of the 'fastest growing family in Oman' but it is also promotes an environmentally-friendly option, reducing not only the amount of plastic in circulation, but the number of cardboard boxes recharge cards are stored in and the fuel consumption of delivery vehicles needed to deliver the recharge cards all over the country.

Nawras entered the mobile telecommunications market in Oman, promising to give customers a positive, exciting experience by providing what people really want in an innovative, creative way.

Nawras changed what people buy, where they buy, how they pay and how they get help and this latest move is continuing the trend for introducing 'firsts' to the Sultanate with the focus always firmly placed on enhancing service for customers.

Nawras has always offered a wide distribution network stretching from one end of the Sultanate to the other, enabling Nawras customers to obtain credit quickly and easily, wherever they may be located.

This new agreement with Cellucom is the future of buying credit, extending the scope of recharge options by further improving choice for customers from as far North as Hurmuz in Khasab and as far South as Wadi Shaith in Thumrait.

This is part of the overall strategy operated by Nawras which results in giving every one of its more than 700,000 customers a rewarding mobile communication experience with high quality, great value and pleasingly different service.
