The exclusive Da Vinci watch range, which was first launched at a celebrity studded gala in Geneva earlier this year, is now available from selected IWC retailers across Beirut.

A high profile gathering was organised by IWC in Beirut's Metropolitan Club attended by IWC CEO Georges Kern, IWC Brand Manager, Gianfranco D'Attis, retailers from Lebanon including Jacques and Mher Atamian and 120 high profile guests. The famous Jerome Murat from the Lido in Paris regaled the audience with his upscale artistic performance.

The audience in Lebanon was introduced to IWC's new collection inspired by the great Italian artist and inventor Leonardo da Vinci, the Da Vinci watch collection features a new 'tonneau' form of case, which combines positive and negative curves designed to create a strong impression of power and forward movement. It is available in three distinct models; the Da Vinci Automatic, the Da Vinci Chronograph and the limited edition Kurt Klaus Chronograph.

The Da Vinci Automatic has a smaller case than its two siblings, measuring just 35.6mm for those who prefer an understated presence. The watch features the date with a two disc presentation and is available in white gold, rose gold and stainless steel.

The Da Vinci Chronograph has a larger 43mm case, which houses an automatic movement with a 68 hour power reserve and a unique winding system based on IWC's patented Pellaton method. The concept behind watch's display is that it translates chronograph logically; using a "watch within a watch" and conveying elapsed time through the hours and minute hands; thus using the familiar to make these measured times decodable at a glance. The Da Vinci Chronograph is available in white gold, rose gold and stainless steel, with a limited edition of 500 watches being produced in platinum.

The Da Vinci Kurt Klaus is limited to 600 watches only and pays special tribute to the remarkable genius who created a revolutionary perpetual movement for IWC; a design that was hailed as a breakthrough and the most accurate movement of its time. Kurt Klaus has spent over fifty years of his life working for IWC and although officially retired, can still be found most afternoons of the week at the Schaffhausen factory, where he is only too happy to impart his unique experience and specialist skills to a new generation of IWC watchmakers.

IWC Schaffhausen is the only watch manufacturer based in the east of Switzerland and their timepiece collections include Pilots' watches, Divers' chronographs and limited edition specials. The IWC brand has been producing high quality mechanical timepieces for almost 140 years. And the company's name has become synonymous with craftsmanship and performance by discerning customers the world over.
