Index 2007, gateway to a regional market worth in excess of $1 trillion, opens in Dubai

The 17th Index exhibition, globally acknowledged as the Middle East's definitive showcase for the interiors industry, was officially opened this morning at Dubai International Exhibition Centre by H.E. Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri, UAE Minister of Governmental Sector Development and Chairman of the Supreme Committee for the Supervision of the Telecommunications Sector.

"Across the GCC, there are in excess of 2,500 existing and planned projects worth a total in excess of US$1.2 trillion currently underway or in the planning stages," said Kim Willis, Exhibition Development Director of Index organisers dmg world media Dubai. "This makes the region by far the most important market anywhere in the world, and the business opportunities for companies involved in the interiors sector are truly remarkable."

Index 2007 is the Middle East's largest ever interiors show, completely filling all of the available hall space at DIEC and covering over 35,000 net square meters. An inspirational showcase of the very best and latest that the regional and international interiors industry has to offer. There are over 1,500 exhibitors from 56 countries, including 35 major country pavilions and many new exhibitors from countries as diverse as Afghanistan, Bulgaria, Laos, San Marino, Monaco and Finland.

Index runs through until Monday 5th November at Dubai International Exhibition Centre - opening hours are from 11 am to 8pm daily (Friday 5pm to 10pm).
