UAE's PRIDC Program wins the 'Information Security Award'

The United Arab Emirates has won the Information Security Award for the Population Registry and Identity Card Program (PRIDC) which has been implemented and developed under the supervision of Emirates Identity Authority (EIDA) since 2005.
H.E. Darwish Al Zaraouni, General Director of the Emirates Identity Authority, said that this award should be the joy and pride of all UAE people and was a result of huge efforts made by the UAE to adopt state of the art information technology systems to manage its affairs under the wise leadership of H.H. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan the President of UAE and H.H. Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum the UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.
Al Zaraouni added that the Information Technology Award won by the PRIDC program came in recognition of its robust infrastructure and various features and benefits provided to the U.A.E. population. He confirmed that, since its incorporation, EIDA has worked hard to enhance the infrastructure of this project through adopting the latest and most advanced technologies in the world under the continuous support of H.H. Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, EIDA Board Chairman, and the direct follow up by H.H. Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Interior, EIDA Vice Chairman.
Al Zaraouni explained that the Judging Panel chose the PRIDC program according to five criteria, i.e. the Scope, KPIs, Innovation, Functionality and Productivity; whereas the PRIDC Program was the best among other nominated programs in view of its compliance with all the said criteria. He indicated that EIDA is also nominated to the 2008 Business Process Award among the other award categories offered by the conference; i.e. Information Management, Information Security, Business Process, Service Innovation and Digital Inclusion.
