Sama Dubai appoints Nuwayyid Ahmed Rafiee as Corporate Development Manager

With his wealth of experience in turnkey project management and complex corporate challenges, Rafiee brings with him extensive leadership and communication skills to Sama Dubai.

Starting his career with Dubai Aluminum Company (DUBAL) as an electrical engineer, Rafiee rose to become the Project Manager responsible for the design, construction, installation, testing and commissioning of turnkey projects. During his tenure with DUBAL, he was credited with achieving more than four million man-hours without lost time injury.

Additionally, Rafiee was responsible for the budget, quality, risk management, as well as implementation of industrial environment, health and safety (EHS) standards. He was among those responsible for the successful implementation of the Employee Suggestion Scheme at the aluminium giant.

Rafiee has participated in several overseas training programmes including the Young Manager Programme at the Paris-based institute INSEAD, and Maintainability Engineering at Purdue University in the US. He has also attended the Dubai Quality Group's Negotiation Skills programme and the National Examining Board's Supervisory Management training.

Rafiee holds a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the UAE University, and an MBA from the University of Wollongong in Dubai.
