$1m slice of paradise up for grabs at Dubai Oil Barons Ball

Platinum sponsors of the Ball, Rum Cay Resort Marina, will be placing a DVD previewing their stunning tropical resort on every plate at the Dubai Oil Barons Ball 2007, with one containing the message the viewer is now the proud owner of an exotic plot of land in The Bahamas.

Rum Cay Resort Marina rises over a 900-acre tract on an island on The Bahamas known as the "sleeping beauty", just 165 miles southeast of Nassau. Famed for its sport fishing and diving throughout the world, deluxe amenities are offered by the incomparable Rock Resorts with shopping and dining in the marina village of Port Santa Maria surrounding the deepwater yacht basin.

The Oil Barons Ball 2007 also aims to help more dreams come true by holding a silent auction throughout the event for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, granting the wishes of children living in the UAE with life-threatening illnesses. A plethora of luxury products have been donated by sponsors with all proceeds going towards this worthy cause.

"The Make-A-Wish Foundation assists children and their families by providing an avenue for hope and strength," explained Khadija Warsama, Executive Director, Make-A-Wish Foundation.
"We find that most wishes in the UAE are from very ill ex-pat children who would like to go home, and raising funds through events such as the Oil Barons Ball is a really special way to help these dreams come true."

The highlight of the auction will be pictures drawn by children who've already been granted their wish, and donation envelopes will also be available on every table at the Oil Barons Ball for guest to contribute to this worthy cause.

Held under the patronage of HE Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President, Department of Civil Aviation Government of Dubai, and Chairman of the Emirates Group, the Oil Barons Ball celebrates its fifth edition this year with a 'Viva las Vegas!' theme on Friday 9th November 2007 on the lawns of Emirates Golf Club, Dubai.
