Fikr6: Arab Strategies for the Global Era to take place at the Ritz Carlton Hotel, on December 1, 2 and 3, will assemble 'elite business leaders' in the region to discuss the major challenges facing businesses and societies worldwide and in specific the Arab world.

The event is being hosted for the sixth year, by the Arab Thought Foundation a non-profit organisation, whose aim is to promote the unique culture and values of the Arab people under directives from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in co-operation with the Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB).

"Leaders and scholars will be asked how they are raising global awareness of the values, the people and the policies driving Arab competitiveness in this era of globalisation," says event executive director Hamad Al Ammari.

"In keeping with the foundation's mission, which is to promote the unique culture and values of the Arab people, the conference will bring together the smartest thinkers and leaders from our region and beyond to discuss issues that are of challenge and discuss ways to tackle these challenges."

Key speakers for Fikr6, being held under the patronage of HH King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa include Saudi Aramco president and chief executive officer Abdullah Jumah, Opec fund for International Development (OFID) director general Suleiman Jasir Al Herbish, Central Bank of Bahrain governor Rashid Al Maraj, Al Watan Newspaper (Saudi Arabia) editor-in-chief Jamal Khashoggie and Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (Sabic) chief executive officer Mohamed Al Mady to name a few.

"We aim to foster information exchange between Arab leaders and thinkers and their non-Arab counterparts, to deepen understanding and strengthen mutual respect," adds Ammari.

"The event is being hosted in Bahrain for the first time and we aim to make it as successful as the last five conferences which received great accolades from those who spoke at it and the attendees."
