QTA seeks 50,000 rooms

The Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) is seeking to have 50,000 hotel rooms on stream in the country by 2016, according to its CEO Ahmed Abdullah Al Nuaimi and cited by The Peninsula. The increase would coincide with the 2016 Olympics which Qatar is keen to host. The QTA is also developing an advanced information centre, which, in co-ordination with the government, will collect information about companies active in the tourism sector.
