Dr. Kazim's comments came at the recently concluded Global HR Forum at Seoul, South Korea. Organised under the central theme of 'Global Talent, Global Prosperity', the event showcased international best practices in human resource management and explored effective tools for the development and utilization of human capital.

Other speakers at the session included Kun-woo Park, President, Kyung Hee Cyber University, Korea; Jaber Asfour, Secretary General of the Egyptian Supreme Council for Culture; Al Monji Bousnina, Director General, ALESCO (The Arab League Educational Cultural and Scientific Organization), Tunisia; Abd Dhiyad Al Ajili, Iraqi Minister of Higher Education; and Mohammed Yousif Abdallah, Sudanese Minister for Culture, Youth and Sports.

Dubai Knowledge Village (DKV), member of TECOM Investments, showcased its international learning community at the Seoul Forum. Presenting a case study on Dubai, Dr Kazim highlighted the globalised nature of university education in today's world.

Dr. Kazim said: 'Education is the cornerstone of economic and social growth. Dubai Knowledge Village aims to promote knowledge sharing as well as pioneer new initiatives that serve the society's cultural, social and economic goals. The education cluster is committed to driving Dubai further as a training hub that facilitates learning in the region.'

He added ensuring access to quality academic opportunities with the potential to contribute to the progress of the country is the key priority for Knowledge Village. Through its affiliation with various globally renowned training institutes, the cluster seeks to enhance the level of education and training programmes to cultivate continuous learning in the region.

'The academic clusters of Dubai not only offer a wider spectrum of programmes, they also focus on latest industry-specific advancement in each sector. Our mission is to empower our talent pool of emerging professionals with the knowledge and skill to excel in today's competitive marketplace,' said Kazim.

In April, Dubai Knowledge Village announced the launch of Dubai International Academic City (DIAC), the world's only free zone dedicated to higher education. Located in Dubai Academic City, a base for universities, DIAC will serve as the regional destination for premier international higher education institutions.

DKV and DIAC currently host 20 international universities from 10 countries including USA, the UK, Belgium, Iran, Pakistan, Russia, Australia, France and the Indian Subcontinent.
