- PRESS RELEASE
The Student Representative Council (SRC) of the Abu Dhabi Women's College organised a charity campaign to collect funds for needy families in the UAE.
"Charity work plays an important role in every economy and every person should take part in it," said Souad Al Housani, President of the SRC. Souad further expressed the SRC's desire to continue working on community projects. "Whether contributing money or volunteering, the SRC is willing to care for and give back to our community."
The SRC decided to hold the charity drive as an expression of the spirit of Ramadan. The students wanted to work with Red Crescent because the organization is known for its humanitarian efforts throughout the community. In addition to the funds, the students collected three boxes filled with clothes and supplies for the needy.
"The Abu Dhabi Women's College is proud that its students made such a significant contribution to Red Crescent to assist in the ongoing pursuit of improving the condition of people everywhere," said Dr. Brad Cook, Director of ADWC. "This donation was completely student generated and is a tribute to the incredible charity and concern our students have for their community and the world. We are very proud of our students for their selfless acts of generosity."
The SRC presented the donation to Red Cresecent representatives Mrs. Sabah Mohammed Abdo, the Head of Schools and University Donations and Mrs. Souad Al Khazraji, the Head of Charity Campaigns. They expressed the organisation's gratitude for the students' contribution.
