DM Drainage Division's 'Technology Week' witnesses a large turnout as more than 25,000 transactions are processed electronically during campaign

The 'Technology Week' at the Dubai Municipality's Drainage Division launched by the Dubai Municipality (DM) has witnessed a large turnout as all transactions at the DM's Drainage Division are being processed electronically from within and outside the DM main premise.

The Acting Director General of Dubai Municipality, H.E. Engineer Hussein Nasir Lootah, said, "Dubai Municipality continued "Technology Week" with a great success, the Drainage Division Week which was launched from 21-25 October was widely attended by the visitors to complete their transactions electronically. The number of transactions completed during this week exceeded 25,000 electronic transaction, an increase of 25% on average during the preceding weeks, which amounted to approximately 20,500 electronic transaction."

"For the first time since launching e-government initiative in Dubai Municipality few years ago, the number of electronic transactions completed in a week has reached to such a large number, completing 25,000 electronic transaction in one week in one of the departments major achievements. This is an incentive and a strong motive for everybody in the municipality of Dubai to move forward in the direction of complete electronic transformation in the near future," engineer of the Lootah added.

The Acting Director General of Dubai Municipality said that the technology week at the Drainage Department witnessed an remarkable increase in the number and size of electronic payment transactions with a total amount collected electronically Dhs1,105,000 , in this week compared to Dhs456,160 in the previous week with an increase of 142%, while 360 new clients were registered electronically between companies and individuals, compared to 270 clients in the previous week. 179 clients visited the e-government platform at the Municipal Building during this week, and 27 clients received training on the services of the Department, pointing out that since the start of the Technology week in September 23 till now, 92% of (477) visitors interviewed were satisfied with the services provided during the Technology week campaign.

Through the 'Technology Week' campaign, Dubai Municipality provides the public with the possibility to complete there transactions from anywhere, either in their homes or offices, also Dubai Municipality built an electronic platform inside its building to enable customers to complete their transactions.

The "Technology Week" began with the Environment Division on September 23 and was quickly followed by the Health Division from October 7 to 11. The campaign is scheduled to continue with the Drainage Division from October 21, to be followed by the Planning and Area Division from November 4, then the Building Division - Rehabilitation Section from November 18 and finally end with the Building Division - Building Permit Section from December 9.

By embarking on this programme, the municipality aims at further improve the quality of its services, unifying the technical standards and finding rapid solutions for problems to improve the level of customer satisfaction.
