GBM hosts a regional IBM rational seminar
- Bahrain: Tuesday, November 06 - 2007 at 10:11
- PRESS RELEASE
Gulf Business Machines (GBM), the sole distributor of selected IBM products and services in the Gulf, hosted 'Building SOA Solutions and Managing the Service Lifecycle' seminar on November 5, 2007 at The Movenpick.
"The IBM Rational allows organizations to tackle concerns about decision rights and process measurement control with a holistic approach to SOA adoption that addresses both governance and management issues," said Soubhi Chebib, Director of IBM Brands at GBM.
Chebib explained that a proven model guides an organization through the process of setting up the policies, procedures and processes required for efficient and effective decision making. Once established, the execution of the governance process is realized through a service lifecycle management infrastructure, which defines the end-to-end process of how services will be developed and managed throughout the enterprise.
"The IBM Rational Tools reduces the inherent risks of an SOA solution with well-governed service lifecycle management, thus organizations are better able to motivate all areas of their business to reuse enterprise assets and shared services," Chebib concluded.
According to Abdulla Ishaq the General Manager of Bahrain Business Machines (BBM) the Bahrain branch of GBM, "A department should be much more willing to share the once-private application assets, if it were sure these assets will be protected. Furthermore, it will be more likely to use (or reuse) a service or process from another group if the asset's integrity, security, reliability and performance can be assured."
Mouries elaborated that as a result of the accelerating architecture adoption, an organization can realize the benefits of SOA faster, which includes increased process flexibility, improved responsiveness and reduced business operations costs.
