Jean-Pierre Joncas was named 'Outlet Manager of the Year' for his former role as Operations Manager of The Exchange Floor, which houses the award winning The Exchange Grill, the chic wine bar Cin Cin, and the Cigar Bar, a modern twist on a traditional venue. He now is the Operations Manager of Spectrum on One.
He was recognised as a passionate restaurateur who consistently strives to develop and empower his colleagues in order to exceed guests' expectations. His dedication to colleague development and training, high product and service standards and as well his innovative approach to showcasing The Exchange Floor have earned him numerous accolades from his staff as well as his patrons.
Tess Victoria was named 'Accounts Person of the Year'. She joined The Fairmont Dubai in 2002 and has held progressive roles within the finance department at the hotel. She was recognized for her unwavering commitment to her colleagues, her keen eye for accuracy, and her ability to serve as a mentor in her department.
The Fairmont Dubai was also nominated in 'Fitness Instructor of the Year' category with Osama Mohamed from Willow Stream Spa.
Now in its fourth year, the Hotelier Middle East Awards recognises a broad range of front- and back-of-house roles. From laundry managers to chefs, procurement managers to front office personnel. This year there were 17 award categories.
The Hotelier Middle East Awards are a celebration of excellence. The winners truly are the heroes that make all the difference.
