The donation has been made to mark the relationship between Al Noor and Barclaycard, whereby customers can choose to use Reward Points earned on their Barclaycard to make a donation to Al Noor.
The sponsorship is designed to provide the centre with funds to buy equipment needed for the Physio therapy and Occupational therapy departments. The equipment will be used to enhance the effective implementation of Group therapy for children. Also proper positioning of children will be addressed, to compliment the goals to be achieved by them. The sensory stimulation equipment is used to enhance Sensory Integration which compliment the child's general functioning, through active participation. The adaptive devices are fundamental to encourage maximal participation of students in the various self-help skills, so their dependence on the caretaker is minimized.
Zeeshan Saleem, Head of Barclaycard in the UAE, said: 'Al Noor does fantastic work supporting children with special needs and the UAE community in general. It is important that Barclaycard does its bit to help the local community in the countries in which they operate. I am very proud to make this donation and hope we can make further contributions through our rewards scheme in the future.'
Barclaycard is part of the Barclays group which has a commitment to corporate responsibility which extends to every colleague in every corner of the globe. At the heart of Barclays community investment programme is the desire to encourage and inspire Barclays people to get involved in the causes they care about locally. More than 33,000 colleagues were given support for their fundraising and volunteering last year, benefiting around 8,500 charities and community organisations around the world.
