Harvard Medical School Dubai Center and Dubai Healthcare City hold workshops

The seminar, 'Specialty Practi-Med: Mental Health', will be held on November 8th and 9th at the Grand Hyatt Hotel.
The programme is designed for primary care physicians, paediatricians, psychiatrists, psychologists, counsellors, social workers, other mental health professionals, including nurses andas well as medical students. Upon completion of the Harvard Medical School Dubai Center accredited program, participants will be awarded up to 15.25 CME credit hours in addition to a certificate of attendance.
Timothy Petersen, Associate Director of the Massachusetts General Hospital Department of Psychiatry's Division of Postgraduate Education, and an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School will lead the programme along with Dr. Sheikh Saoud Abdulla Al Mualla, Consultant and Head of Psychiatry Department at the Rashid Hospital.
Other key speakers include David Nutt, Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Bristol, George Papakostas, Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School, Ellie Karam, Professor and Head Department of Psychiatry and Clinical Psychology at Balamand University School of Medicine, Melanie Schlatter, Human Relation Institute in Dubai, Valsamma Eapen, Professor of Child Psychiatry at UAE University, Haney Shafey, Clinical Associate Director at the University of West Ontario and Azfar Malik, CEO of Center Point Hospital. With a special focus on anxiety and depression, the program will give participants an opportunity to interact with distinguished international faculty members and leaders in mental health. The seminars will include lectures, case studies discussions and interactive sessions.

The HMSDC is a joint effort by Harvard Medical International and DHCC to develop the region's leading medical cluster into a centre of excellence for healthcare delivery, medical education, and research. HMSDC seeks to advance the professional development of physicians, nurses, research scientists, and allied health professionals in the region.
