Travco pioneers Egypt's tourism market for 11 years in a row

For the 11th consecutive year, Travco received the best Egyptian travel company award for handling the largest number of inbound tourists amounting to 635,000 and 1.8 million tourist nights, thus generating the largest tourism revenue to the country.

The award was presented to Travco Group Chairman and CEO, Hamed El Chiaty.

In the celebration of the annual World Tourism Day on September 27th, H.E. Minister of Tourism Mr. Zoheir Garannah presented Travco Group companies with awards in recognition of its leading role in facilitating and encouraging tourism in Egypt.

Touring International, another subsidiary company of Travco, received an award for being the sixth best company in attracting inbound tourists with arrivals reaching to 251,000 pax and generating 568 thousand tourist nights.

Alpitour Group Egypt, a third subsidiary of Travco and represented by Khaled Youssri, Tourism Manager of Alpitour, was awarded the second place for its excellence amongst travel agents with less than 5 years of existence in the Egyptian market and the ninth place, in general, for handling 70,000 pax and generating 553 thousand tourist nights. The four-star Iberotel Dahabeya in Dahab came in fifth among the other hotels of the same category.

Throughout its 28 years of continuous growth and success, Travco has pioneered in shaping new and attractive tourism trends in the Egyptian market, and has recently capitalized on Egypt's promising residential tourism in Egypt's up and coming destinations on the North Coast and the Red Sea.

In 2006, on the regional level, Travco has inaugurated its latest five-star hotel Al-Aqah Beach Resort in Fujairah in the UAE, with further plans to develop four more properties beginning by one in Muscat. In addition, the number one travel company has made business deals with the most recognized international airlines to not only promote tourism in Egypt, but also the Middle East.

It's worth noting that Travco's empire comprises 11 thousand employees of the most skilled caliber in the tourism and hospitality field. Travco boasts an impressive fleet of 20 Nile Cruise vessels, 42 hotels in Egypt and across the Middle East including nine properties to be added in the coming few years.
