DaeX is a free web service that interfaces to either a central reservation system (CRS) or a hotel's property management system (PMS) to an internet booking engine or tour operating system enabling real time automation of bookings. It allows the hotels of a specific destination to interact and transact in real time with tour operators, wholesalers, and corporate clients.

The Arabian Travel Market Exhibition was a key platform for DaeX to meet with potential customers. Hoteliers and tour operators had the opportunity to observe live demonstrations of DaeX, understand the functionality of the system, as well as the latest developments and updates that were generated from their feedback in a host of workshops conducted prior to the exhibition by leading hoteliers from this region and the U.S. Furthermore, the presentation gave the attendees a better understanding of the benefits of implementing DaeX, which currently enables the hospitality sector to better manage and maximize their revenue using the most up-to-date web based tool.

"Since debuting at ATM 2006, amongst the industry's leading hoteliers and tour operators in Dubai, we have received great feedback and support, and, based on the success of our ongoing workshops, we feel that our latest customer wins were a result of a well planned and implemented sales and marketing strategy that relied on a one to one approach with our prospective customers,"

said Simon Lewis, Manager of eVentures, Emirates Group.

"According to half year results from the HotelBenchmark Survey by Deloitte, Dubai continues to enjoy double digit growth, and maintains the highest revPAR of any region estimated at US$255*. Impressed with the figures, leading hoteliers and tour operators realized that the DaeX solution was most apt to help them adapt and keep up with the competitive market," added Lewis.

Movenpick and Arabian Park, two of Dubai's leading hotels, were early adopters of the DaeX web service and have been very satisfied with the implementations to date.

"Since we started testing DaeX, we have experienced the real benefits of the system. Having the full web service installed and operating has helped us to manage all our direct bookings, tour operator allocations, wholesalers and travel agents while cutting down costs related to manual processing of room bookings," said Michael Nugent, General Manager, Movenpick. "We are extremely satisfied with the deployment of such a unique trade automated booking channel and marketing tool, and we feel very comfortable having a definite proven competitive advantage with DaeX deployed," added Nugent.

In addition to Dubai's top hotels realising the importance of DaeX for their business, leading tour operators have also shown great interest and support for the solution. In light of this, DaeX is offering tour operators the implementation of web service to their existing systems free of charge.

From a travel trade perspective the DaeX web service can interface to a tour operating system allowing the automation of faxes and emails to be sent directly to the hotel and a confirmed booking reference to be sent back at internet speed. With adaptation of DaeX, no longer will tour operators and Destination Management Companies (DMCs) have to wait for local opening hours at a destination to book and confirm hotel inventory.

Since it was created, DaeX has been committed to bringing the latest technology to the hospitality sector. As a web service built on the advanced XML and .Net
