According to the MOU, DWC will assist CBD in meeting its employment targets by encouraging current students and graduates to apply for CBD employment opportunities. DWC will also work with CBD to promote human resources related projects and events beneficial to both parties. DWC and CBD will coordinate visits and presentations to exchange knowledge in relevant areas. "This MOU supports DWC's strategic priorities as it enhances cooperation with local partners and allows for further promotion and increased employment rates of DWC's graduates," said Dr. Howard Reed, Senior Director at the Higher Colleges of Technology and Director of DWC.
"This MOU also establishes that CBD will provide DWC with various locations to participate in job shadowing, industry mentor programs and internship opportunities. In addition, CBD will give priority to DWC students for internship and employment opportunities especially those who meet specific CBD job requirements," said Peter Baltussen, Chief Executive Officer of CBD.
Dubai Women's College strives to achieve its strategic priorities, which call for keeping pace with Dubai and the development of UAE nationals through their employment and other skills enhancement schemes. At the signing ceremony, Dr. Behjat Al Yousuf, Associate Director of DWC emphasized the significance of investing in local talents and knowledge-based employment. DWC's Career Services department aims at achieving 100% employment of its graduates.
