At a ribbon cutting ceremony held the store was officially opened by H.E Dr. Easa Ahmed Bin Jakka Al Mansoori, Director of Drug Control Department of the Abu Dhabi Health Authority. The event was also attended by senior officials from the Abu Dhabi Health Authority and executives from Boots.
This new move highlights Boots' growing presence in the region and is aimed at providing shoppers in Abu Dhabi with the largest selection of health and beauty products under one roof. Situated on the ground floor in the mall, the store measures 225 sq.metres and marks Boots entry into the emirate.
Commenting on the new store opening, Richard Morgan, Managing Director, Boots said: 'This is indeed a momentous occasion for us and we are delighted to introduce the Boots brand to residents in Abu Dhabi. Proving to be an extremely lucrative market, Abu Dhabi has recently witnessed a total retail investment of US$1.96 billion in recent times. Making tremendous headway, Abu Dhabi is now attracting some of the biggest names. Our investment in the emirate reflects our commitment to growing our business in the region and we look forward to expanding our presence shortly.'
The new Boots pharmacy offers over 6,000 health and beauty products, including over 3,000 own brand products, ranging from cosmetics, fragrances, revolutionary skincare and the latest designer haircare ranges.
Boots prides itself on its award winning range of health and beauty brands including No7, Britain's No.1 cosmetics and skincare brand, Soltan, Britain's market leader in sun protection and Botanics, the indulgent head-to-toe range created in conjunction with the Royal Botanical Gardens in London.
The new store is set to transform the health and beauty retail environment in the capital. In addition, the store is equipped with a special beauty counter for customers to receive makeovers from No7 beauty consultants. The store also has trained and professional pharmacists to cater to the health needs of customers.
In addition to the new store at Al Wahda Mall, Boots currently has seven stores in the UAE located in Al Diyafah Road in Satwa, The Village Mall on Jumeriah Beach Road, Ibn Battuta Mall, the Mall of the Emirates, Al Safa Park in Jumeirah, Deira City Centre and Al Wasl Maternity Hospital.
