Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture & Heritage partners with Takatof for Kremlin Exhibition
- United Arab Emirates: Saturday, November 10 - 2007 at 18:20
- PRESS RELEASE
The Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture & Heritage (Adach) is working in tandem with the Abu Dhabi-based Takatof foundation to provide volunteers during the 'Arsenal of the Russian: Treasures of the Moscow Kremlin Museums' exhibition held at Emirates Palace.
HE Mohamed Khalaf Al Mazrouie, Director General of Adach, commented: "One of the most important benefits is the opportunity we can give to Emirati youth to engage in the cultural activities and projects organized by Adach, since providing training prospects is an important part of our Authority's remit. This will allow us to develop a well-trained workforce within the cultural sector."
Adach and Takatof have collaborated on several other occasions: volunteers have worked with the organizers on the Festival of Nabati Poetry (Million Dirham Poet) and the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, in addition to further plans for future cooperation at upcoming Adach events.
"Takatof's aim is to increase UAE nationals' sense of social responsibility. We strive to find opportunities to develop the spirit of volunteering and working with Adach has given our volunteers the chance to contribute to preserving Abu Dhabi's heritage and culture," commented Abdul-Azeez Sulaiman Al Kindi, Takatof.
Takatof, a unique UAE community volunteer initiative of the Emirates Foundation, was established in Abu Dhabi in September 2006 to brand the concept of volunteering as a 'way of life'. "I have worked with Adach on several occasions, and the responsibilities I have assumed have inspired me to pursue a career in promoting the rich history and culture that the Emirate of Abu Dhabi preciously possesses," said Khalid Al Harbi, volunteer.
The "Arsenal of the Russian: Treasures of the Moscow Kremlin Museums" has received so far, over 8500 visitors. The exhibition is located in Gallery 1 at the Emirates Palace and is open from 10am-3pm and 6-9pm. The exhibition will run until November 19.
