WTM ideal platform to launch new brand identity of Abu Dhabi

The World Travel Market (WTM 2007), the world's premier travel and tourism show being held in London from November 12 to 15, 2007, is set to witness Abu Dhabi's largest ever presence through the eminent participation by Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) and its key industry partners from government and private sectors.

This participation comes as part of the marketing plans developed by the partners to position the emirate as a leading destination on the global tourism map. More than 200 exhibitors will take part in the WTM, representing 71 players in the emirate's tourism sector.

On the occasion of Abu Dhabi's participation at the WTM 2007, Mr. Mubarak Hamad Al Muhairi, Director General of ADTA, stated:

"Abu Dhabi's participation at this prestigious international event aims at positioning the emirate as a leading destination for luxury tourism and enhancing ADTA's partnership with the private sector. Taking prominence over the world tourism agenda WTM will provide us with the opportunity to promote the emirate's latest travel and tourism projects and products under the umbrella of ADTA and generate great further interest among international tourists and investors."


He added: "A variety of meetings, seminars and workshops is scheduled to bring together top experts, decision makers and stakeholders. Thus, WTM will serve as a main resource for tourist information and provide ideal platform for developing an international network that helps us grow business and share expertise and best practices. In addition, Abu Dhabi's participation and sponsorship of the WTM have immense potential for new local, regional and international partnerships. This also will significantly contribute to the development of Abu Dhabi's tourism and investment sectors and provide a highly attractive environment to tourists, service providers and other interested parties. To do so, we will showcase the facilitated procedures and lucrative investment incentives offered by the emirate".

ADTA Managing Director concluded that the new brand identity of Abu Dhabi will be launched during the WTM 2007, with more than 50,000 clients from the world tourism industry expected to be present at the event. As Premier Partner Sponsor of the show, ADTA will be able to promote the new brand identity to a broad international audience.

Spearheaded by ADTA and stretching over an area of 610 square metres, the Abu Dhabi Pavilion, ME 1000, will encompass five corporate corners for some of Abu Dhabi's dominant travel and tourism-related organisations including Abu Dhabi Airport Company, Abu Dhabi National Hotels, Al Dar, Danat Hotels and Resorts and Emirates Palace Hotel. The pavilion's Exhibitor zone will include twenty-four booths for the emirate's leading travel trade industry exhibitors, including those making their first appearance at the show, who will join forces with the ADTA to promote Abu Dhabi to the world as a world-class destination in the region for up-market business, convention and leisure tourism. The exhibitors list comprises hotel chains, travel agents, tour operators, attractions, tourism projects and event organisers who will have great opportunity to promote their products and services to a variety of trade professionals and decision makers during the show.

* The Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) was established in September 2004. It has wide ranging responsibilities for building and developing the emirate's tourism industry. These include; destination marketing; infrastructure and product development; and regulation and classification.
